Vajrayogini is frequently referred to as “the Essence of all Buddhas” in the appellation Sarvabuddhaki. A deity of the Tantric Buddhist pantheon, Vajrayogini is a deity of protection, compassion, and enlightenment. Often referred to as a Dakini, Vajrayogini is the manifestation of higher spiritual maturity and enlightened energy. In Buddist texts, it is mentioned that Vajrayoginī’s essence is “great passion” (Maharaga), a transcending desire that is devoid of greed and illusion—she ardently strives for the well-being of others and for the eradication of ego-clinging. She is seen as a patron deity for followers with strong passions since she can show them how to channel those impulses into enlightened virtues.

The deity, as depicted by the copper-moulded statue by Milusgree Arts, features the third eye of knowledge perched vertically on her forehead and loose, cascading hair and coated with brown oxide elements, the statue is hand-painted using acrylic paint, which is what gives the form an ethereal and deep crimson and emerald hue. Vajrayogin is shown holding a kapala brimming with blood in her left hand, which she drinks from with her mouth open, and a Kartika (a flaying knife with a vajra handle) in her right.

A bell, a triple banner, and a damaru dangle from Vajrayogin’s vajra-decorated kavga. In order to contort black Bhairava’s head back and push it into his back at the degree of his heart, her stretched right leg treads on his chest while her bowed left leg treads on red Klartri. She wears a necklace made up of fifty human skulls and has a crown made up of five human skulls on her head. She is shown to be standing in the middle of a fiery blaze of elevated awareness. Sculpted to portray the diety’s ethereal aura, her expression is moulded to display both sublime and ferocious features in the fullness of joy, smiling and baring her fangs.

Vajrayogin’s shape is constructed with a spiritual connotation intended for each feature. Her stunning red hue represents the burning of her tummo (candali), or “inner fire,” which is responsible for her spiritual change, as well as life energy (Shakti), blood from her monthly cycle, and birth blood. Her solitary face represents her realisation that everything has a common source in emptiness. Her two arms stand for her acceptance of the contrasting truths. She represents the power to view everything in the past, present, and future with her three eyes. The curved driguk knife in her right hand demonstrates her ability to cut through the continuum of impediments and delusions that all living things, including her followers, experience. It is believed that housing the statue of Vajrayogini leads to clearing out any negative energies and shows the path to enlightenment.
