Many female practitioners have experienced a sense of inclusion due to White Tara's long history as a Bodhisattva and a female Buddha in the Buddhist pantheon. The Buddhist pantheon's most striking female deity, Tara’s appellation signifies "star" in Sanskrit, and it is said that she has the power to direct her followers' spiritual journeys like a star. In the renowned Tibetan Buddhist prayer, In Praise of the 21 Taras, Tara is shown as having 21 forms, which is how Tibetans often conceptualize her.

She assumes a new hue in each of her incarnations, such as Blue Tara and Black Tara, and provides a distinct energy or virtue to support us on our spiritual journeys. The two most well-known Taras out of these 21 are the Green Tara and the White Tara. She is also often referred to be a Bodhisattva in various northern Buddhist lineages and is frequently shown and characterized as the female consort of Avalokiteshvara, the most well-known Bodhisattva. According to certain Buddhist myths, she was created from a tear that Avalokiteshvara shed out of extreme benevolence.

Tara's standing in the Himalayan ethnic traditions and culture, however, is more akin to that of a transcendent goddess or female Buddha than a Bodhisattva, particularly in Tibet and Nepal. She is also known as the Mother of all Buddhas, the Wisdom Goddess, the Embodiment of Perfected Wisdom, and the Goddess of Universal Compassion. Images, such as holy Thanka paintings of White Tara, depict her as a white being, signifying her unadulterated compassion for human suffering, which is said to be stronger even than a mother's love for her child. Her white hue also indicates the "homogenous reality of the Dharma."

It is believed that housing White Tara’s statue in one’s home or alter brings in blessings of love and compassion. The beautifully hand-crafted statue of White Tara by Milushree Arts depicts the deity as having seven eyes, one on each hand and foot and one on her forehead, signifying her caring attentiveness to see all human suffering.

Magnificently hand-crafted by generational artisans, the statue is molded in copper and coated with mercury gold. The deity’s beautiful face is layered with gold dust, and her features are colored with acrylic paint. Precious gemstones like Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise, Rubies, and Coral decorate her crown and jewels. On either side of her form, lotus stems sprout upwards, gently caressing her elbows. Tara’s statue also depicts her extending her right hand outward to fulfill the desires of her devotees.

To continue practicing the Dharma and advance farther on the road to spiritual satisfaction, White Tara is explicitly linked to activities that increase longevity. The statue is painstakingly molded by craftsmen with the knowledge that White Tara represents the world's most stunning and profound depiction of female spirituality. The specimen of White Tara by Milushree Arts beautifully expresses the tranquility that comes with polished wisdom and the elegance that goes along with real compassion.
